SKATING

The Village provides outdoor skating facilities in the wintertime at the three parks in Senneville.

There is an indoor rink at the Macdonald Campus of McGill University, which offers a family skating program with optional lessons for children and adults. These lessons follow the Canadian Skating Program (CanSkate). There are also West Island hockey programs. For information dial 398-7778.

MUNICIPAL POOL

The Senneville pool, located in Senneville Park (20 Morningside), is open to all citizens during the summer. Swimming and lifesaving courses as well as free swim schedules are announced each year in a bulletin distributed in May. The Senneville pool opens in June, and participates in competitions with other municipal pools of the West Island in diving, racing, water polo and synchro.

TENNIS

Senneville maintains two tennis courts in Senneville Park (20 Morningside). All residents of Senneville may use the tennis courts at the park. Information on tennis programs and lessons is distributed each May.

John Abbott College has squash and racquetball courts open to the public for a small fee.

GOLF

The Braeside Golf Course is a private club located at 249 Senneville Road with a nine-hole golf course.

SAILING

The Senneville Junior Squadron Program and the Baie d'Urfé Yacht Club have combined their strengths to offer a junior and an adult squadron program operated from the premises of the Baie d'Urfé Yacht Club.

Learn to sail on the beautiful Lake Saint-Louis. Children aged 7 to 17 can take 2- or 4- week courses in the Junior Squadron Learn-to-Sail and Race program. Instructors certified by the Canadian Yachting Association, ensure a safe and fun-learning environment. The junior white sail program is open to children from the ages of 7 to 17 and consists of 1 full day a week (Friday) from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm or 4 half days per week from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Bronze sailors also sail Tuesday mornings starting at 9:30 am.

Adult courses are also available evenings Monday and/or Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. once a week, for 5 consecutive weeks.

An Opti learn-to-sail program is offered to our young sailors aged 7 to 12 years old. This program covers basic to intermediate level skills required to sail an Optimist dinghy safely, in wind strengths of 8-16 km/hr. Applicable White Sail Level I, II and/or III certification may be awarded upon consistent demonstration of the skills outlined by the CYA.
